FAQ
How do I pay my bill?
we do have eftpos and preferred payment is via
Debit Success or Centrepay. Cash/ cheque not
accepted...
How do I know what my child has
done during the day?
In the first instance, educators will talk with you
about your child’s day. Each room also has a variety
of ways they communicate with families. Daily
routines such as mealtimes, nappies/toileting,
sleeping, etc, are documented and educators will
share this information with families on request. Also
photos sent via the new Seesaw app and families
can message via this app too…
What happens if my child becomes
ill at childcare?
If your child becomes unwell, we will keep them as
comfortable as possible while we contact you. It is
important we can always get in contact with a
parent/caregiver. If for any reason, we are unable to
contact you, we will contact one of your other
nominated emergency contacts. If your child needs
urgent medical attention and you are unable to get
to the Centre or we are unable to contact you or
another emergency contact, then an ambulance will
be called.
What if my child has an allergy or
intolerance?
We are an allergy aware and nut free centre. Our
cook prepares all meals for children on site and will
cater and adapt meals in accordance with your
child’s allergies/intolerances.
What if my child has a medical
condition?
Educators will work with you on how best to
support your child. We access local agencies, such
as Gowrie SA, to support the inclusion of children in
the childcare environment. Children with ongoing
medical needs require a Medical Management Plan
completed by a medical practitioner. We will also
work with families to develop a risk minimisation
plan.
What happens if I am late?
The Centre closes at 6.00pm and morning sessions
finish at 1.00pm. Late fees may apply for late
pickups. If you are running late, we ask that you
phone the Centre and let staff know as soon as
possible.
What if I can’t pick my child up?
It is essential that we know in advance who will be
collecting your child each day – you must indicate
this on the room attendance sheet on arrival. If
something happens during the day and someone
different needs to collect your child, you must notify
us as soon as possible. Unless we have been
notified of a change to the collection instructions by
you, we are not able to allow your child to leave the
Centre until we can contact you.
What happens if my child is hurt at
childcare?
Accidents do happen at the Centre and, if they do,
we will notify you immediately of any accident
which requires medical attention. An accident
report will be written up by an educator for you to
sign on your arrival at the Centre. Educators are
trained in first aid and the Centre keeps well
stocked first aid kits.
Who do I talk to about my child?
Each child is allocated a primary carer in their room.
This is the person who your family will form a close
relationship with because they will grow an
attachment with your child and advocate for them
while they are at the Centre. If your child’s primary
carer is not available at any time, please speak to
the Team Leader or the Director.
Can I swap days?
Yes. However swap days will incur a fee of $8.00 per
swap. Swaps will only be permitted within the same
billing week and if spaces are available.
What days of the year is the
Centre closed?
The Centre closes for approximately one (1) week
between Christmas and New Year and one (1) day
for Staff Professional Development (we will notify
parents of a suitable date sometime in the year via
newsletter, website and Seesaw app). Dates for
these closures are advised to families well in
advance via newsletters. The Centre does not
charge fees for public holidays or closure days.
