Connecting Children with Coast, Community, and Country

At Victor Harbor Childcare and Education Centre, we are proud to offer our Beach Explorers program in partnership with Fleurieu Marine Education. This unique initiative gives children across all age groups the opportunity to engage with Marine Biologists and local environmental specialists to explore and learn about our beautiful coastal environment and marine life.

Each term, children participate in a range of rich, hands-on experiences through excursions, incursions, and intentionally planned learning environments. These experiences are designed to foster curiosity, environmental awareness, and a deeper connection to our local community and natural surroundings.

Through Beach Explorers, children learn about:

• Local marine ecosystems
• Coastal wildlife and conservation
• Environmental responsibility
• The cultural significance of land and sea Country

Our Beach Explorers program supports children to become curious, capable, and environmentally aware learners who feel a strong sense of connection to their place and community.
