Vision

“To create an inspiring and inclusive environment that nurtures curious and healthy minds and bodies, and fosters meaningful connections with families and the community.”

It takes a village to raise a child” is a proverb that means that an entire community of people must provide for and interact positively with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment.  We view our service and educators to be a part of every child’s village.

Our Philosophy

Children

We believe in the rights of the child and the right to be respected in a diverse and inclusive environment.  We believe that every child has the right to play, and we inspire them to explore, investigate, discover and be curious. Our rich and engaging environments foster a sense of wonder and ignite a passion for lifelong learning.

We nurture creativity and capability through child-led play, providing a wealth of natural and open-ended resources that encourage exploration. We create an environment where children thrive, develop a strong sense of belonging, and feel that their voices are heard and valued.

Through our play-based curriculum and thoughtful planning, we promote independent thinking and learning. Our individualized and group programs are designed to meet the unique interests and needs of each child.

Educators

We believe that kindness is at the heart of everything we do. Our passionate and dedicated educators are committed to constantly growing—striving to be bigger, kinder, and wiser in their work.  We foster safe, secure, and meaningful relationships with children through nurturing and responsive practices, ensuring each child feels supported and valued.

Our knowledgeable team is dedicated to ongoing learning and reflection, continuously enhancing our practices and skills to achieve positive outcomes for children. We are committed to expanding our knowledge and expertise to provide the highest quality early childhood education and care.

Using an attachment-based model, fully supported by our entire team, we promote consistent, nurturing, and secure relationships between educators and children.

Families and Community

We value the rich and diverse perspectives of families and actively listen to them, working in partnership to support each child’s growth and development. We provide space for families to gather, connect and share through meaningful events.

We work within a collaborative partnership model, working closely with local professionals agencies to provide support and care for families and children.   Inclusion is vital for children and families as it fosters a sense of belonging, encourages respect for diversity, and helps develop empathy, ensuring that every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

We recognize and value the importance of connection to country, working to deepen our relationships with the local Ngarrindjeri and Ramindjeri elders and communities. Through these relationships, our children gain a deeper understanding of the local area, significant sites, and stories. The seeds planted by these experiences foster a sense of responsibility, helping children learn to appreciate, protect, and care for country.

Environments

Our authentic, homely environments are inspired by the Curiosity Approach and nature-based play, focusing on natural and recycled resources. We are committed to sustainability, embracing the 7 R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle, respect, repair, reflect, and refuse.

Through our Beach Explorers program, children are introduced to a variety of learning opportunities connected to our local marine environment. These experiences help children develop the skills and knowledge needed to care for and protect our natural world.

“When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.” ~ Fred Rogers
